Quinquagesima - The Holy Spirit as the Fire of Love

Well, the world is throwing a lot at us right now - I am sure I don't need to tell you what I mean by that.  And it's appropriate as we shall see because here we are in the great 50 days before the culmination of the Passion (as of Saturday just gone).  While It's the last period of preparation prior to the purification of Lent it's also a time for beginning to batten the hatches, trim the sails and tighten the sheets for the coming "change in the weather."  While our Faith in ourselves and in the One should go without saying, Stability and Love are the key qualities we must cultivate for what is to come. The readings for today talk about Love, in a round about way the concept of being first, last and what it really means to be "chosen" in Christianity.  You may be surprised at who does the choosing...
