Second Week of Lent - Control of Speech

This week we enter the second week of the Lenten fast and as of Sunday are interested in how we Control Speech, that we may not make too great a destructive fire from our unruly little flames! 

 

Despite this, we need to understand how to do this: it's not just a matter of shutting up our tongues inside our heads.  It's a matter of knowing how to speak in a way that is effective and helpful and good... 

 

Speech is very tricky.  The approach taken in this talk is to provide a "deep" method for how control of speech is done in practice: rather than a set of prescriptive rules we would all like to follow but probably won't.  So it is a bit longer and more esoteric than the usual.  (And that's also why it has come out a bit later than usual too!)  At the very least, may these stories amuse you...

 

I hope you continue to grow in these times of transition.  Things are not easy and they will likely get more and more "interesting" over coming months... may we all be adequately prepared.
