Interview for Gaia Thrive 2020 - Esoteric Christianity
This was an interview done with Alexander McDonnell of Gaia Thrive about 2 years ago... in August 2020. We are talking about the nature of Esoteric Christianity. We start with the nature of Jesus from an esoteric perspective and go through a few other facets of esoteric practice including the importance of Holy Eucharist before settling on a discussion of prayer.
We talk about different approaches to prayer with an acknowledgement that the approach taken by most people is a kind of beseeching, requesting of or bargaining with God for desired outcomes by the one praying.
We finish up with a discussion of why liberty or freedom is essential to the proper conduct of a Christian in their approach to themselves and others as well as what freedom is and is not.
Following the spirit of my recent talk on Good Works where I demonstrated an example of Lectio Divina, here I talk about the Lord's Prayer and in particular the Abun d'bashmayo before looking at a few other approaches to prayer and one or two sayings of Jesus that instruct us on the sort of attitude to have if we want to make progress on the spiritual path.
And of course, we should always remember there are no thoughts which are not prayer.
The Lord's Prayer (Abun d'bashmayo)

shbaqan l`khayobayn – Have forgiven those who owe us
lo ta`alan l`nesyuno – And not bring us into trial
